My husband and I are in a group called SCA...if you know what that is, don't laugh too hard. :P Typically in mid-February we go to a 5-day camping event for the aforementioned society...which has turned Valentines Day into something somewhat non-existent. And before we started going to these events, we had one V-Day together, but I think we were broken up at the time, so it really wasn't good. And every V-day prior, I was single.
But this year...THIS YEAR!!! We are not going to the event, and I darn well better be spoiled! ;)

I got my chance to squee today at the Valentines goodies that Blaze created...
First off, the Amore gown:
Available in a variety of colors, and soo charming...but you really need to see this in-world for yourself, either from the demo or from viewing the live mannequins...when moving or dancing, the layer underneath shows through and really gives a creative edge to the gown.
And also...it comes with a lingerie extra!
I should also mention that all of the poses used in these pictures are from Luth Brodie's new pose collection "Sex Sells" and umm...I wouldn't know that to be a fact <.< >.> but these poses are certainly hot...
And in a move that certainly put me the mood to dress up, Blaze also added a package of two new colors for the Lush line...a deep red and hot pink. Here's the red:
So, say you dress up in all this sexeh Valentines finery, and your partner forgets to log in, and you find him in World of Warcraft, ogling the blood elves? Now, you can claw his eyes out with Tete a Pied's prim fingernails! Check these beauties out:
Available in 25 different styles currently, 5 different themes.
I love them, absolutely love them, but let me point out a few things about them:
1) They have a low-priority AO for the hands so the nails stay in place...unfortunately, they made some of my poses look a bit weird, and my personal AO would occasionally override the nail AO, and the nails would look like this...and sometimes, I would have to detach and reattach them to get them right:
Would this deter me from wearing them all the time? No way. But unfortunately...
2) They attach to the left and right hands, and so did my rings. So it's one or the other. I tried to attach my rings to the forearms instead, but that was a no-go. I have two rings that I wear all of the time, so now when I put my ensembles together, I have a choice to make.
And now, in what has to have been fate, I was trying to search for something in Classifieds, when something completely unrelated to what I was searching for appeared in the window, and the pretty colors halted me from making another step, except to TP directly to Amusing Tone to check out these wings:
I'm not a wings person by any stretch, I think I wear them once every 6 months or so...but these are beautiful. There's not much of a selection there so far, but there's another pair there that are colorful, almost reminiscent of the Lisa Frank color schemes (not the new themes, more like the stationery us girls fawned over in the early-mid 90's)...each also comes with a stiff and flexi version...very convenient.
Available here: Amusing Tone
That's all for tonight :)

Holy cow, it's a post...!
Instead of regaling you all with excuses on why I haven't blogged lately ("Busy with work, had to level a gnome warlock, my cow trampled me, etc etc...") I'll just post some schtuff.
I went to Last Call the day before it opened (hooray Dazzle group!) As usual, Ginny (or is it Devyn now? I'm so confused) has made tons of fangirls very, very happy with the highly detailed, freaking gorgeous work he puts in each of his clothing pieces.
I'm a very easy girl to please (some of my friends are probably rolling their eyes at this, shut up pervs), and I have to say that Ginny/Devyn/whatev is not only one of THE best designers in SL, he's also extremely dedicated to customer service. As a newb (almost a year ago) I messaged him with an issue I was having with a tank top that would put texture remnant "sleeves" on my arms - an issue with SL, I realized later, but at that point I was at my wit's end, so I tried asking Ginny first to see if he had any ideas.
He worked with me for quite a while to see if he could help me get the top back in order, even gave me a test outfit to see if that showed up correctly. He very well could have said "Ask Live Help, newb dork" - and it would have been fair! But he tried hard to help me, and for that I was grateful, and still very much a loyal customer. (And I later figured out a solution, a very weird one - but I have never ever had to throw away a piece of clothing, as I've heard some people have to. Watch me jinx myself now.)
Anyways, the pics! First off, is "Right Said"...cause Last Call + Utilikilts = teh love.
This little ensemble comes with the 'beater top in tucked and untucked styles, arm warmers (not being worn because well, my star tats rock ^^), two different lengths of kilts (I'm modeling the short version), and socks. The kilt can also come as a separate in a lighter cream color and a pale green (which I'm going back for...)
Next, vee have "Philanderer", which is a lovely cross between 70's style (the nice looking kind!) and a more feminine modern style. Also, this is a partial tour of my new house...because who doesn't want a treehouse?
Outfit includes the shirt, bra (you could wear it bra-less though, and it wouldn't be too indecent), pants and a flexi skirt.
Why am I standing on my chair? Because I feel like it.
And of course, I had to pick up an LBD...meet "Wilhemina":
I had to include front and back piccies because this dress is so creative...so many times I see designers do incredible detail on the front of a dress, and make an incredibly plain back to the dress. This is certainly not one of those dresses. Comes with what you see - top, glitch pants, awesome skirt.
Last but not least...the absolute showstopper of all of the pieces, I bring you Nadirra:
One of the versions of this gown was on one of the teaser posts on the Dazzle blog, and I just died...it is incredible. From the bodice detail/shading, to the subtle texture design on the skirt overlay, to the fantastic use of color contrast, Ginny truly created a prize of a formal here. This is a gown you truly have to see in-world to appreciate. Comes with a top, glitch pants, and two skirts (the one I'm modeling, plus a version without the overlay that matches the top).
As much as I loved the new clothing designs...Lyra truly wowed me with her new jewelry. As anybody who knows me can attest, I do NOT like bling, or shiny metals. Earthtones currently owns my soul (more on that in a different post!) but I am absolutely loving Lyra's current jewelry selection. Here are some examples:
Bound Bolo (almost comes in gold version):
The stars underneath my eyes are created by Starley, also available at Last Call, in several varieties.
Jacey Star Necklace (comes in several variations, and earrings/bracelets):
Starley Silver Pendant (comes in various colors, and sorry, the necklace is so tiny, I had a bunch of trouble trying to zoom in):
The jewelry can also be found inside Last Call. There is also sections for menswear, silks, and swimwear...and Starley Thereian created a new set of Vogue skins inspired by the Last Call designs. This is one fantastic store.

Speaking of fantastic stores...Blaze has moved into a new sim! Be sure to go take a look...it's beautiful and well-built (of course), and huge.
And of course, I have to show off one of his more recent pieces, Daisy:
I'd like to point out a few unusual things about this dress:
1) The skirt is awesome...I can't even fathom how much time Blaze put into making each piece of the skirt match with the others. The pieces are also shaped differently than any other short skirt I've seen, and give it a very sleek form...and there are three different shapes of the skirt provided, to try and accommodate different hip shapes.
2) The flower design on the legs...so original, it really gives a more whimsical feeling to the dress.
3) Blaze is giving it away free of charge to members of the Blaze Alarm group, so go join, now! (It's in the Notices, so join soon, before the month goes by and the notice vanishes.)
Also...I would like to note, that the above picture was practice in the art of "Mouse Moves Sun"...the debug menu is like a game in itself ("What happens if I click that...oh, the ground disappears...nice").
And, a few pictures for modeling/photography practice...I haven't felt like messing with GIMP lately, so these are pretty plain.
Yes, the hair is the LE from Dazzle and Starley from Christmas. No, I don't care that the hair barrette has snowflakes. It's one heck of an awesome up 'do, and I'm eccentric. Get over it.
Good night all, take care, and all that sappy junk.
